Blend is approximately 1/3rd Petite Sirah, 1/3rd Carignane, 1/5th Zinfandel, 1/5th Grenache. 60 year old, head-trained vines in northeast Mendocino County. Co-ferment in classic “field blend” tradition. Neutral French oak aged. Bold flavors of black and blue fruits with integrated black pepper, pie spice, cocoa and anise notes. Medium/low acidity, smooth tannins and restrained (14.0%) alcohol. For a bigger red, this is very easy to drink.
Post & Vine Owners/Winemakers Rebekah Wineburg and Erica Kinkaid both have “day jobs” making super-high end (and pricey) Napa Valley Cabernets and such. Post & Vine is their passion-project. I so love this wine, all vintages. In fact, I’m seriously considering making it my new “It Wine.”Â
